One child was strapped onto my back as one crawled inside the playground. I spent 12 hours days, for months, sanding and stripping wallpaper and with just one child. Ha! It was all starting to form, but it wasn't quite finished. The home would require a great deal of effort and an enthusiasm for shopping. To keep within my budget, I took my boys along to search for treasures in estate sales. The weekly ritual was that we would stroll through estate sales and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. When our house was decorated, I couldn't stop! There was a place on the market in town in which I sold my pieces. It was possible to expand my space because I owned many more pieces than I needed. They were asking for my assistance in decorating and renovations. The majority of people who contacted me were people who had visited my home at one of the furniture open house events. Once I had a few months I began to take on customers in my own way. Before long I had numerous accounts as well as a home remodeling business. It is likely that I'd have laughed had somebody had informed me that my venture was going to be part of a forthcoming TV show in the DIY Network. In fact, I laugh a little when I remember the episode.
