At the age of 12 She composed her debut single Different. In her 14th year April spent a lot of her day creating and playing with songs. She started writing songs alongside her father at home in NY and LA within a short time. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing in the area of social pressure and teens who commit suicide through the songs"Take my Hand. Lockhart also has an ever-growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. Her birth was without a left hand. It's part of her story, but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. It also doesn't emphasize the issue. What is the message? That we all contain multitudes of identities and that we're much more than our physical selves. I do not want this to determine me. I do not intend to become an influencer where that's all I talk about because there are many different aspects to me. Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. My everyday life isn't dependent on it. I go about my regular daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. Because it's part of who I am, it's something that's worthy of talking about. Lockhart inspires us to keep moving forward with self-acceptance. Still, she admits that she went through a few phases regarding her appearance, feeling insecure at times to wear outfits that showcased her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she wants and posts pictures on her Facebook page with pride. One of the keys to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a place to go. But I think that's common to everyone regardless of what they are struggling with. It's important to have people around you who are aware of and can relate to you. They'll be the ones asking your: What are you worry about?
